### Fixed
- **A malformed `providers` config no longer crashes provider/model resolution (#3979).** If `providers` in `config.yaml` was set to a truthy non-dict value (e.g. a list), several resolution paths called `.get(...)` on it and raised `AttributeError`. Provider config is now read through isinstance-guarded helpers that treat a malformed value as unconfigured (empty), so resolution degrades gracefully instead of crashing. Valid dict-shaped configs are unaffected. (#3979)
